Great games on Sunday, sorry if you missed the nerve-wracking Giants/Packers game.

Both of the games went almost as expected.
The Chargers could have utilized Sproles a little more, because when he got the ball, plays were made. If only the Chargers could have put TDs on the board instead, it would have been very interesting. Surprisingly the Bolts led the turnover battle. The Patriots know how to get it done though. Brady with 3 interceptions! I hate to say it, but they deserve to be there. The Colts could not overcome their mistakes like the Pats did, and they are the deserving team out of the AFC.
As for the NFC, people may disagree with the Giants being the best team, but look at what they have done! Beating the 1 and 2 seeds in consecutive weeks, away from home. It’s not like they got lucky either. They dominated these games. Even though they were close, the Packers had some long plays, and without those it would have been a demolishing. Favre could never get it going, Grant could not run anywhere. And Eli was exploiting Woodson and Harris easily. Plaxico looked like Reggie Wayne out there, literally, they look like the same player with the way they run their routes and their build.
The Giants surprised everyone in the playoffs (well…except me), but they definitely deserve to be where they are right now.
It will be a very exciting Superbowl. But the line at 12, 14 points, however many. That is ridiculous. I am not sure if the Patriots have covered any of their lines yet in the playoffs, and on the other hand, the Giants have won each time they were the underdog. That is almost free money for the betters.
I can’t wait to analyze the game.
Will I continue picking the G Men like I have throughout the playoffs, or will I go with everyone else in the world except for New York…?

Here we go!
Let’s start with the Lions, yes. Love those guys. I was at the game Thursday, and I will at admit, before the game I thought the Lions were better team than that and had a pretty good chance of pulling an upset.
Ah, little did I know their defensive backs are actually worse than I thought they were. Please at least stay on your feet. One on one coverage they fell at least 3 teams…not good guys. But, the Packers did prove themselves, I give them that.
The Boys and the Horses took their games pretty handily. The Colts were looking rather rough if the first quarter. But, P. Manning would not allow that to open. Anthony Gonzo decides to show up and earn himself top yardage/catches. Very nice.

And back to week 11.
The Jags continue to impress.
Patriots please, no one likes you, and I hate to say it: You will not win the Superbowl, the SB is not going to let jerks like you to win. I’m sorry, I mean I definitely see the need to go for 4th downs when you are up by 30/40 points!! Of course, Tom Brady “I NEED RECORDS, I NEED TO OVERPOWER PEYTON’S RECORDS!” He is saying something like that. Finally, Maroney the baloney gets his first touchdown last week! So proud of him, I mean Brady is probably still pissed about it, oh well I guess.
Okay, sorry about that.
Like I said before, the Saints: not good.
Browns, you better believe it, even though they barely got by. Giving up 30 points to the Ravens might be considered a loss in itself.
Woooah, J E T S, that was something over the Steelheads, and it was also something not being able to score against the Boys, ehh.
Steelers better pick it up, we all need them to beat the Patriots.
After a few losses, the Bucs are alive again, be on the lookout.
Cardinals are looking to make a run. Good job bengals, your defense continues to impress.
Two straight for the Rams…yay…
Good job Seahawks, but lookout for the Cards!
After the Lions game, it looks like the Broncos have something to say, I know the Titans have not been playing well, but the AFC West is looking pretty tough with a bunch of mediocre teams.

Oh Reggie! Nice grab, nice grab.

Throw in some action for the reader there. Yay!

Now: Week 12.

A pretty gruesome week. I mean really, 24 point favorites for the Patriots…no comment.
Even though the 49ers are 10 point underdogs, they still beat the Cards in the first game of the year.
Giants should be able to handle the Vikings well, I mean they can’t pass, but we knew that 10 weeks ago, and so did everyone else. Time for Elisha to get back on track (or however you spell his name).
The Jaguars are just powerful, and the Bills and just embarrassed by last weeks loss at HOME.
It almost looks like Bears/Broncos is the best game. Sort of funny…
I like the Broncos, but each of these teams are unpredictable. Cutler>Grossman, so that is my decision.
Ohhh, I pick the Bengals wayyy too much. I say that every week.
I don’t know though, whenever Vinsanity throws for over 250 yards, they tend to lose (ex. last 2 weeks). He will reach 250 against the BUNGles. So that means the Bengals will win, even though they are not good at all.
Herm Edwards will take out the Raiders single-handedly.
Browns/Texans: expect points, but also expect Browns. Home field, and the Texans just don’t like cold weather.
Julius will handle Brees/Bush and the Panthers will win. The Saints are still favorites…
Edit: David Carr is starting, I will change my pick and sadly go with the Saints.

Good game: Bucs vs. Skins
I don’t think Campbell has enough to take on the Bucs defense, but the Skins defense may be too much for Jeff. However, the Bucs will sneak by, with the pirates.
Love the Cardinals. Hate the Chargers, but, the Ravens are worthless.
Eagles> Patriots, yea I said it. AJ Feeley is the quarterback? Who knows. Yea I’m just kidding, stupid Patriots.
Look out for the Eagles defense to return 2 INTs for TDs for Tom Brady (just adding to his record).
Steelers seriously, prove yourselves. The Dolphins and Beck/Williams, really good offense. If this is a close game…Good night Steelers.

How ’bout that? Patriots are going to lose, take my word for it!
Of course I am saying that because I hate them, but last game of the year against the Giants (if no one else can beat them). The G-Men will be fighting for a playoff spot (possibly), that means yes ELI>TOM ! Yes yes yes! He will redeem his brother!

Okay okay okay.
Enough of the bye weeks, we are now full tilt NFL, on our way to the playoffs.

In case anyone was wondering, yes I finally picked the Saints to go down to the Rams, what a great win.
Other than that, the Browns were a harder test than anyone thought they would be. The Eagles are still trying to make a run after the beating of the Redskins defense. Maybe the Packers are really that good. I am impressed by Jacksonville with these wins they are getting with Gray playing QB. I did not see any of these happening, but he did play better than Vinsanity, so what next?
With Chris Henry back, maybe the Bengals can win it out for a run at the playoffs, well, they might have to score some touchdowns here and there (I mean 7 field goals?). The Boys showed who was best in the NFC, and the Giants know where they need to improve (allowing 4TDs/game to Romo). Hey! The Bears got another win, with who? Grossman is back baby!
The Lions, need I say more? Competing with the Bolts to be the most inconsistent team in the league.
I’m not worrying about the Colts as much as everyone else, they played well, will get healthier. My only concern: Special Teams, it’s been a problem for a while, we’ll see how they cope.
The Seahawks Monday Night win, ehhh.

Now what’s in line for this week?

Packers: demolishing
Colts, Browns, Bucs : back on track
Cards/Bungles and Saints/Texans : shoot-outs

Hardest pick of the week goes to the Giants/Lions game.
It IS the Lions at home, both coming off losses however…
I really like the Lions to win this game, but can I really pick the Lions to win a big game? I don’t know if I trust them enough. It will be close, but the G-Men will get to Kitna too many times.
The Bills will put up a fight, but not big enough for the Pats. Lynch is questionable too, so that makes matters worse.
I like the Broncos in MNF. Titans could get back on track, but from what I have seen lately from their offense, is not good at all.

Colts will put things together, don’t worry about it.

I like the Chargers in an upset, even though the Jags have been playing well. I don’t think the Chargers are that good of team either, I just think they need to take out this mediocre team.
Who else? Not like it matters, but the Raiders have a good shot of taking out the Vikes.
I’ll take the Bungles even though the Cardinals are surging.
The Steel Curtain will be just that.
Maybe I’m forgetting something…
Oh…
The Browns are good.

NBA Sizzle

Here’s something new. Enough of the NFL already!

A look at the new season. There are a few surprises so far, but mostly everything was predicted.
Detroit of course will take the Central, they have been looking like themselves. The Cavs have actually taken a step down from how they played last year, we’ll see how that comes through. The Bulls will pick it up though, maybe finish 2nd in the Central.
Boston…has just been dominating. People had their doubts at the beginning of the year, but have they showed something so far. With defense and all their scoring threats.
Orlando finds themselves in an unfamiliar position compared to previous years. So far, the addition of Lewis has helped out a lot. With Dwight the beast playing his bet yet, they have a stellar lineup.

Portland has been a bit of a surprise over in the west. With their win over the Pistons last night, and also one against the Mavs. I don’t see them competing with Denver and Utah for the top spot in the Northwest though.
The Suns have not been that impressive. The Clippers have been playing good, 0-2 without Mobley though. The Lakers will always be there with Kobe, except they’ve had some bad losses against the Hornets and Spurs.
The Southwest is by far the best division. Rockets, Hornets, Spurs, Mavericks, all of these teams have a chance to win the division. With the exception of the Hornets, they have looked good, but I’m not sure how much they will be able to compete with the powerhouses of the West. Otherwise, none of these teams stand out to me. The Spurs have been the most consistent so far though…

I like Detroit and Boston in the East.
I like Houston and San Antonio in the West.

That is if they all stay healthy, well mainly Houston. I also think the Jazz are better than the Mavericks…and Suns.

That’s it for now. Once NFL is done, I will probably start some pick’em. That’ll be a while though.

The weeks have gone by quickly. It’s been a good season though, hopefully it doesn’t go by too fast.

Disappointed that I haven’t been able to update earlier in the week. But Colts/Pats, good game even though no one else thought it was. Even though the Colts lost, they looked real good. Stopping the Patriots like that, even though they lost it in the end, the Colts played real well. Truthfully, I don’t think anyone thought the Colts were that good, their defense at least.
And the Saints, hey let’s face it…They still aren’t good. I don’t care what they are doing. I will keep defending their opponent until they beat someone noteworthy.
How about those Lions, that win was real nice. Just showed how much they have improved since last year.
As well as the Browns, no one expected them to pull through in OT of that game, or come back from that deficit.
Steelers are starting to wreck havoc like the Colts/Pats.
Chargers were the biggest disappointment for me last week, I mean what happened to their better then average run defense. WHAT was that !? I mean, everyone KNEW that they were going to run the ball, everyone. Maybe they are that good, but still, if you know exactly what a team was going to do, you should be able to stop it, right?
Bengals, Bungles, who knows, they are a mess. I think I’ve said that before…

Well let’s get this week started.

I’m not exactly sure how the Lions are underdogs, after they lose we’ll probably see why though.
No, just kidding, I see the LIONS winning, if they can stop Kurt like the Bucs did last week.
Steelers/Browns, Pretty big game, as the Browns are fighting for a playoff, yes the Browns, but the STEELERS are just too tough, expect about a TD difference, not as much as the first game though.
PLEASE, someone needs to take out the Saints. What will I say, the RAMS? What? Yes!!! The Rams first win of the season comes against everybody’s favorite Saints. After the bye week, Bulger comes alive and takes it to them, BUT what about the Rams defense? Oh yea, that might be a problem.
A lot of divisional games this week, and a lot of big ones.
JAX@TEN, CLE@PIT, MIN@GB, DAL@NYG, CIN@BAL
Some key games for the playoffs.
TITANS take another one from the jags, with gray at QB, they will score less than they did in the first meeting.
I pick the Bengals to win too much, but hey, this is a perfect game for them. Good defense, bad offense. As long as Palmer can find the end zone like the steelers did last week, the BENGALS will get 2 off the Ravens this year.
The first meeting was a shootout, this time, the Giants defense is a bit improved. Look for them to still score like they did last game, but control Romo a lot better. GIANTS.

Both teams looking to get back on the winning side. The Chargers really need to pick it up to make a playoff run, as they have already lost to the Chiefs. However, the Colts are the Colts, and they are just about the most consistent team there is in the NFL. COLTS on Sunday night in SD, oh yea, they can overcome diversity.

Good monday night game…Maybe they had hopes for either one of these teams to live up to expectations. The 49ers offense is horrid. The C-HAWKS will easily control the game. Unless of course the 49ers Defense can stop the hassler. Alexander will need to pick it up at some point this season too.

Very good.

Well the Lions pulled it off, can they keep it going? This weeks games are a mess. For only 3 of the games, the point spread is more than 4. This leads to some very tough picks.

Ohk, I was way off with the Saints last. I STILL do not believe in them, so I am giving this to a Jacksonville team that surprisingly pulled out a win last week. Even though Quinn is a horrid starting QB, I think the Jags De will give it to Brees.
JAGS>Saints
SEAHAWKS>Browns, I do like the Browns, however, with the C-Hawks coming off their bye week. They will pull it together and stop Derek Anderson ENOUGH to get a win.
Chargers, Vikings…O/U = 41? So that’s about 28-13 Chargers, I think Phil will give it to Antonio/Chris, then LT will come in and seal the deal, giving the Chargers at least 30 points. And I think the Vikings will throw at least 14 on the board. Making this OVER. Also the line is only 7, add like a TD to that, and you’re still golden.

Any upset this week is not really surprising at all. Any of the underdogs have a decent chance of winning, except the Vikings.

This leads to me possibly having the Ravens, yes the Ravens upset the Steelers. I don’t like them particularly well, but coming off a bye week. AND with SD NE IND in consecutive weeks, they need to get some wins in before that happens. I won’t give them the straight up win, but I will take the Ravens on the 9 point spread.

And the Lions…Selvin Young has some moves, but KJ on the other side of the ball will scrape up his yardage, plus Kitna. A narrow win for the Lions @ Home, But Cutler will have a chance to pick apart the Lions secondary, look out for a Lions letdown…

Packers/Chiefs will also be a good game. Chiefs coming off a BYE, and the Pack off that Monday night thriller. Such a good pick for KC, but the Packers do have what it takes to win. Tough choice, I think LJ and D Bowe will lead the way for the Chiefs.
I don’t like the Panthers, and the Titans offense has been nothing as of late, so good material for Carolina.
Bungles, what to do about these guys? Seriously…Buffalo has a decent team, but I like Cincy.
After that quote by Boldin and saying how hard it is going to beat these guys, that’s rough, from a potent offense. I like the Cards, IF their defense can do something because the Bucs have a good team.
Oh yea, Dallas by more than 3, unless Donovan plays good, but he won’t.

Ohk, well the Colts-Pats. I try not to think about it so much because it gets me so anxious. Tomorrow is the day, not that it means anything for the future though. I feel the Patriots have a better chance of winning this game than if they meet in the playoffs. Just my feelings. I still think the Colts will win though. TB may be everything, but 9 point favorites coming into the undefeated SuperBowl champions home? I know everyone is saying that, but think about it. I know what the Patriots have done, but I also know what the Colts have done. Peyton will not let this game get too far out of reach, and Vinatieri will close it out against his former team.
Win or lose for the Colts, it will be a fun game no doubt. Can’t wait for it. Get your popcorn ready!

It’s gonna be good.

8 is Great

All right, time for some teams to start making playoff runs, or try to (Lions).

Let’s start with Pitt and Cin. The Bengals still have not looked very good at all. If they can’t get anything going, is that it for the Marvin? Well this game could mean in/out for the Bengals playoff hopes. After they lost to the Broncos last week, the Steelers are wanting to get off the losing side. Who will pull through? Will it be the Bengals defense, or the Pittsburgh defense. The game lies on the defenses. Cincy has been horrible, while Pittsburgh has never really been able to contain the Bungles. Even though I don’t have much faith in the Cincy defense right now, I am throwing them on the Upset List.
CINCY>Pitt
COLTS>Panthers, the Panthers don’t have anything impressive, Testy is conservative, which is an advantage over the Colts. But it’s the Colts we’re talking about.
Titans 8 point favorites? Not until their offense shows up. This will be a close game.

QuinnGray vs. the BUCS, I saw him play against the Colts, and he could NOT throw the ball, hopefully he improves or this will be out of hand.
Jets, Bills…ehhh. The Bills are playing better right now, but Pennington has one more chance to prove him self, and it’s in the Meadowlands. So I give it to J E T S.
49ERS>Saints, please people, the Saints are not back and they won’t be for the rest of the year.
BRONCOS>Packers, the Broncos picked it up last week, and they will pick it up again this week. Back to back Sun-Mon night home games, weird. It will be close though, PLUS Packers are coming off a bye. So either way, someone is winning by a field goal.

And Lions, hmm. After the Bears their schedule is rough. If they can’t pull through with this, the playoffs will be a stretch. It is in Chicago, against Lovie, and the Lions got the best of them last time. I like the BEARS. If the Lions win though, they’re showing something, after getting ridiculed for the gatorade celebration and all.

Seems like a boring week to me. Wait, no week is ever boring in the NFL.

Let’s Rank It

1. Patriots – yea…
2. Colts – Defense a lot better than people thought they would be.
It drops off a little bit from here…
3. Cowboys – If their defense doesn’t get better, they will drop.
4. Giants – Yes, they have improved this much since that Packers game.
5. Chargers – I’m not sure what happened in their losses, but their form from last year is starting to take shape.
6. Steelers – It’s not the fact they lost, their defense was not the same defense we had seen in previous games.
7. Packers – Find a running game or…Well, I guess there isn’t much competition here.
8. Redskins – If their offense can show some life like they did in the Lions game, they came make something of the season.
9. Titans – I just like these guys over the Jaguars. Their offense has dropped, but their defense will always be there, the Texans 36 points was a rarity.
If this went by predicting best records, I would put the Seahawks here, considering their schedule is ridiculously easy.
However, it does not.
10. Chiefs – Yes, Herm is starting to bring these guys to life on both sides of the ball. Too bad they have one of the, if not hardest schedule remaining. They will probably not make the playoffs, but will be a tough competitor.

I’ll give the next two spots to the Lions and Browns. I think the Browns are better than what people think. The Lions are too unpredictable to place in the top 10.
If the Bengals can take a win from Pittsburgh this weekend, look for them to make a run to the playoffs. However, they have not been playing too great. So check out one of the Games of the Week.
The Bucs will win their division. The Panthers will lose their next 2 games. Actually let’s look at their 4 previous wins. (Rams, Falcons, Saints, Cardinals) Yea, good wins, especially against Tim Rattay.
The next 6 games for the Ravens all could be possible losses, they better pick it up, fast.

Get ready for 8.

Bengals/Steelers. Redskins/Patriots. Packers/Broncos.

And oh yea… Lions/Bears………….Hmmmmm

Monday Night Colts

After the predictable weekend, how will Monday Night turnout?

I guess my thoughts on Tony Dungy’s products turned out well, with the Chiefs and Bears both pulling upsets.
I feel the Saints got lucky in their win, so check back next week because people think they are as good as last year’s team. The Bengals are still troubled, their defense cannot seem to stop anything. Titans almost lost it, but knows how to win. And look at the Lions, pulling out the win without the help of their passing game, who would’ve thought? Yes, we knew the Bills would beat the overrated Ravens. The Patriots are ridiculous, and Tom Brady should be illegal in fantasy football leagues. The Giants bringing back the theme from last year with “ballin”. The Redskins gave up a little bit, but held. I still don’t think the Cowboys are that great, their pass defense did stop Jackson pretty well, however, it was Tarvaris Jackson that they stopped. Who knows what to think of the Seahawks?
You could just see the Broncos pulling out that win like I said they had a good chance too.
And, if the Colts win tonight I can pull a straight 14-0 on my ESPN picks, I wish I could pick that good on the line…

If this was any other team, I would give the Jaguars the benefit, for playing a MNF game at home. But this is the Colts, the Superbowl Champions. They know how to deal with diversity and anything else the Jaguars will throw at them. The Colts defense is actually not that bad, and the Jaguars defense is in fact good. However, The Colts can score at least 20 points on any given night against any team. I am predicting about a 27-23 game or so to the Colts. There is a possibility of a low-scoring game. If this was a regular day game, I would predict a 20-17 type of game. But whoever gets the ball first has a good chance of going right down the field and scoring. The Jaguars offense has been picking it up, but it won’t be as bad as last years game. The Colts could come out and explode for a blow out win, I give that 20-1 odds. A 3 point or less game about 7-1 odds. And 4-10 point game, 5-1 odds. And in the other case of Jacksonville winning…7-1.

With the importance of the game, Jacksonville is an unpredictable pick. As for the Colts, everyone knows that they will ‘Do what they do’.

In the words of Tony Dungy. Colts are Game.

Before I get the 7, what happened in 6?

I guessed the exact score for the Packers/Redskins game, pretty exciting. Otherwise, a couple of the top teams in the NFC dueled it out, good game. The Chiefs are looking to contend with the Chargers, opposite for the Bengals with the Steelers. Jacksonville is starting to pick it up. The Cardinals might be losing everything they had, but Warner may be back already. Patriots are really THAT dominant. Seahawks are seriously not that good. Look out for the Giants, and don’t look out for the Rams.

Oh yea, here are some of my college picks. Those turned out to be decent.

Anyways the NFL.

CHIEFS>Raiders, Herm Edwards is here for one reason, and that is to win the Championship…
BEARS>Eagles, Why are the Bears my constant upset pick? Oh yea, I just pick all of Tony Dungy’s old assistant coaches to win every game.
TITANS>Texans, if that really is an upset. But who knows what Vinsanity will play like, or IF he will.
Bucs, Lions. This game is a risky one. Who knows what the Lions will play like, most inconsistent team right now. But coming off a bye week, one would think they figured out at least a little bit of the Bucs Defense. 9 out of 10 times, I would pick the Bucs, but just because the Lions have the ability to win, @ home, after Bye week. They need this. LIONS

And Seriously, the Saints do not deserve a 9 point line just for winning one game. If Byron can throw the ball, FALCONS are not a bad pick.

STEELERS>Broncos, welllll, I bet the Broncs actually start to pick it up in this game. So if they upset, nothing special.

I am definitely going with the Colts, I’ll analyze that one a little more, or try to.

There will be upsets this week, a couple away teams taking out the home favorites. One of them you won’t see coming, which could it be?

And woooah, something has to be wrong with Harrison. Can just a ‘knee bruise’ keep you out for 3 straight weeks? Let’s hope he plays.

Ohio State 27, MSU 17 / U-M 28, Illinois 20

Actual: OSU 24-17, UM 27-17.

Not bad at all.

Kitna agrees. The Kit
