Spartans 2012 Tourney Loss

Draymond Green is a great player. He had a great season. But after the game he said something like this: “Draymond Green admitted he feared MSU was going to lose before the game: “I think everybody just knew. We had a feeling.”

What the hell does that mean? Does it make it okay to play terrible? Play lazy? Make stupid plays? Sure, Draymond had 16 boards but only one of them was offensive. He only had two assists. Shot 5-16 for 13 pts and had 6 turnovers and a bunch of bad fouls at the end of the game. When he gets frustrated, he doesn’t do too well because he thinks he has to do everything, but the thing is, he doesn’t.

No matter, if we played like this against Saint Louis, we probably would have lost.

We gave it to our bigs a few times early in the game and they missed shots. Instead of continuing that trend, we stopped and obviously, it didn’t help. I don’t even think Payne got the ball down low in the 2nd half. Nix did once and shot it from his waist. I don’t think Louisville is that good, but they had a decent game while Michigan State had a bad game.

And with Izzo, we basically went about 8-9, sometimes 10 people deep, even in important games. Only went 7 against one of the most well-rounded teams in the country. Kearney only got 3 minutes? He got at least 9 minutes in his previous 11 games? What the hell happened there?

“Izzo in post-game presser says he’ll make sure MSU doesn’t head out to a site on a Monday again. Too much down time in hotel”

Maybe that had something to do with it? Some of the players going out?

Oh well, just a bad game. Disappointing way to go out, but what are you going to do? For how good they’ve played all year… you’re just going to be sick.

I don’t really know where this game came from. Like the Illinois game almost. Next season.

We had a chance this year, a good chance. Maybe better than we’ll get next year. Oh well…
