Dead End

Hooray Patriots!
It doesn’t mean anything yet…

Last week of the season, few games have meaning.
I see the Browns getting in, as the Titans lose to the Colts.
Also Todd Collins leading the Redskins into the playoffs. 10 years between his starts, very nice.
Other than that it is all about seeding. I’m not sure why the Steelers are resting Big Ben, but if they don’t care to play either the Browns/Jaguars then I understand. However, the Jags are a much bigger threat. They are playing the Ravens though…
Chargers vs Browns / Steelers vs Jaguars
I would like to see the Jags play the Pats, they have a good chance of beating either team they play, more of a chance vs the Chargers though.

Giants vs Bucs
Redskins vs Seahawks

I like the Giants, but I don’t think they have a chance against the Cowboys, I’ll leave that to another team.

Well I don’t want to get ahead of myself in the Playoffs. Good luck.

Everyone is talking about the game tonight, in the NFL world that is. How could you not? The Patriots have all these records to break, can they pull threw? I’m gonna be biased and say the Patriots lose just because I don’t like the Patriots.
But how fitting would it be for Eli Manning’s team to ruin the Patriots perfect season. I mean, Peyton’s brother and all, it is perfect. Maybe Eli can end the season like he started it, with a little more than decent game.
I mean, the Giants are going to “Play to win”. But really, I don’t think Coughlin is that good of a coach to overpower Belichick. Unless the Giants have one of their best games of their year, they cannot win. They may be able to run over the Patriots, that will be key. Also, Eli cannot make mistakes. Other than that, of course, their defense has to show something against Brady. The Giants pass defense is not that good, and unless they change some of their tactics, will not stop the Patriots passing game.
They definitely need more penetration on the line, Osi and Michael are the key to that.
It will either be a blowout or a close game. Patriots are 14 point favorites. Will the Patriots come out all pissed and ready to break these records? I think so, I hate to pick a blow out here, but it may be just that.
Let’s say, because it’s a home game, the Giants will put up a fight. 28-27.

Well thanks a lot ESPN Experts for picking numerous upsets this week, really quite impressive.
Just kidding, you guys are great.

After what no one had thought possible, happened Thursday night. In the 15th week of the NFL season, the Texans made the AFC South a division with no sub-.500 teams. Many of you probably did not notice this, but it was an impressive win by the Texans taking out a decent team  in the Broncos. Mario Williams showed his worth, that is all that needs to be said.

So after last week with one real upset (HOU),technically 2 (NYG), what can we expect this week. It looks much of the same actually.

Instead of listing all my picks, I will just let my potential upset teams (all have potential, just with more potential)

Jacksonville has proved to be a good team this year, and Pittsburgh has been very shaken at times. However, I still pick PIT
Could this be Miami’s first win? Possibility with the weak Ravens. Will Troy play though, that may be a deciding factor in the outcome. Maybe Joey Porter will get in a fight with Ray Lewis? Pretty good matchup…maybe
Arizona, obviously is a possible upset. Both of these teams play the same. Heavy offense, weaker defenses. I like the Cards to this though, the Saints are home though.
Buffalo, I am just saying them because of the significance of this game. Otherwise, the Bills have not beaten anyone worthy of mentioning yet.
Also…Chiefs because Vince Young is nothing short of terrible.
Lions, I think they need a win.
Redskins somewhat, because Jason Campbell is better than what everyone thinks.
Bears because it is a divisional game and on Monday Night.

So check out those games. Best bets for a good game. I guess the Patriots/Jets because the Jets are going rock the Pats.

Let’s make it quick.
I haven’t researched much this week, so don’t take these for granted.

And good job to Collins for that win over the Bears.

I like: Bungles, Chargers, Bucs, Packers, Jags, Vikes, Brownies, Broncs, Saints

And the rest…(upsets shall we say)
Hey, why not? I’ll take the Lions, didn’t see that one coming…
One of the bigger games of the week goes to the Giants, Eagles have been playing better as of late, but I expect the Giants DE to pick up the pace towards end of the year now.
Another take for the Dolphins first win of the year, gotta love Beck.
Yes, the Cardinals are money.
Oh I don’t guarantee this one, but the Steelers, mainly because I hate the Pats…
Of course, the Colts, in which everyone is saying it is harder than the Ravens record. Boller is better than McNair, yes, we’ll see what their defense can do though.

Gotta Love It.
Exam week is here ya’ll!

NFL Stuff

Whoops! Too busy for an update last week…
Not much happened to tell the truth.
The Colts beats the Jaguars again, of course. The Lions are worthless right now.
It looks like the Chargers are the only team standing out in that wretched division.
Nothing else worth noting, except the Cardinals/Vikings are looking good. The Titans/Browns are fighting for a spot.

Also, I am contemplating dropping D Driver for Roddy White in one of my fantasy leagues, never saw that coming, or I guess you could have.

How about a top 10?
1. Patriots, ehh
2. Colts, yes they are better than the NFC
3. Cowboys, with the win over the Packmen this is evident
4. Packers, played really well without Rodgers
5. Steelers, they need to pick it up if they want to compete for the AFC though
6. Jaguars, even though I don’t like them, they have beaten their competition in the AFC
7. Chargers, only because the Bucs/Chawks haven’t faced anyone real
8/9. Bucs/Seahawks, I like the Bucs to finish with a better record though.
10. Browns, YES I love it, they have a better of chance than the Titans to make the playoffs
11. Giants, these guys need to pick it up, they played a little better against the Bears, but not as good as they can
12. Cardinals, I believe they can get one more win than the Vikes to get into the final playoff position

Tonights game is a rough one to start off the week.
Neither team is playing all that well. But I am giving it to the Bears because of Lovie and because the Skins let go of that lead to the Bills last week.
BUT Jason Campbell has the ability to win this game, don’t put it past him, he has improved a lot. We just have to wait and see what good ole Rex can do.

I’ll be back for the week 14 full installment.

Fifa 08 Ramblings

So I have been playing Fifa for a while now, just want to vent on some of the discrepancies of the game.
I was up to about the 7000th rank, playing pretty well. I realize a little more how much Barcelona can help a team win, when you are playing against someone that can actually play. Barca gets a huge advantage, as their 4 main guys can over power anyone on Man U defense somehow, which leads to breakaways. Something like the Barca guy running into my defender, and my guy can’t move for like 5 seconds because he was hit, so Messi/Henry/Eto’o/Ronaldinho break away.
How about Messi getting a shot from the side, my keeper pops it in the air. Both my keeper and guy miss the ball (somehow) Messi barely puts his head on it, the ball slowly rolls in, while the keeper is just standing there. Who knows, right?

Definitely some things that need to be fixed.
The goalkeepers (which were supposed to be really good) still have no idea what they’re doing, get the ball out of the box, they are slow.
Gamers need to have the ability to make their player run to the ball, so many balls are lost that way.
Players should be able to turn around quicker, it takes them 2 seconds to turn after receiving a ball, and it gets stolen many times.
Probably the biggest thing: When a player is not selected he does not go to the ball. So many times my guy is running right next to the ball, but he won’t go to it because only one person can run to it at a time. When he miss hits something, the guy is just like “what? I can’t see that ball.”
How about whenever you get the ball on the offensive end, the other forwards sprint offsides and sit there for 5 seconds until they are like, oh yea forgot about that. I know they’re making runs, but most of the time it isn’t open, and you don’t have to run that far offsides anyway.
And why do players get knocked off balance so easily? I played soccer, you get hit around and stumble. But when someone steals the ball from me, I don’t go into a daze for a couple seconds and get get the ball back. What is that?
Please dribble a little faster with the ball too, every guy on a breakaway gets caught up by someone slower unless it’s someone from Barca.

I only have about 40,000 skill points right now, about 100+ games or so, but these are just continual things happening.
And don’t you hate when you lose to people that are worse than you, just because they have Barca and Van Der Saar can’t stop any of their shots, while Valdez is a beast on the other end.

Ah well. At least I can say I have not played as Barcelona yet. A pretty good accomplishment.

If you want to play, I am up for it anytime, or any tournaments.
My name is : Zdrewsk
